On a hot Saturday afternoon, the Dragons hosted a double header against the Toronto Buccaneers. With the 2nd XV coming off the field with their victory, the 1st XV looked to sweep the Buccaneers at home.
Dropping two tries next to immediately, the Dragons held together and fought hard to shift the momentum back in their favour.
Scoring their first try on the day from a beautiful maul from a setpiece, the dragons worked to keep the Buccs in their own half.
They then went on to score another 2, linking phases together and building pressure on the opposition.
In order to keep the scoreboard ticking, newcomer Adam McCarthy slotted a conversion taking the team up by 10 (20-10).
In scoring the last try, Flyhalf Neil Graham opted to go for a cross-kick to winger Micaele Zaffina who was able to wrangle the ball in and slam it down, closing the door on the Buccs in style.
The Dragons are off for the long weekend, then set their sights on the Bay Street Pigs.
