2nd XV Rise to the Occasion

The Dragons 2nd team made its reappearance this weekend as they took on the Toronto Buccaneers in the first match of the home field double header.

Looking to add to the Win column, the team called up long time Dragon and part-time heart breaker Nick Hails. To strengthen the ship they added back row support in the form of Kieran Reid, Johnny Opoku and new-to-rugby Jesse Meyers. The young front-row of Nick Mulchan and Scott Kiesel was anchored by new Dragon Juliano Spaziani.

The team finally came together 5 minutes before kick-off and were able to get into the zone quickly.

After 40 minutes of hard tackles and mishandled balls, the dragons were able to come away with a score. This fueled the rest of the game, with the team walking the Buccs back phase after phase. This eventually led to another two scores, taking the lead to 15-0.

With no subs throughout the game and rolling injuries, the Dragons gave up a last minute try to the Buccs, finishing the game at 15-5.
