Wrapping up the 2014 season, including news on September's Minis tournament at Fletcher's Field, Awards night, the AGM and new faces on the Exec Team.

MINIS NEWS

The 2014 offered up a mixed bag for both the Junior and Senior sections, but it looks like our Minis were determined to keep the Dragons flag aloft as the season drew to a close. Early September saw all three age groups (U8, U10 and U12) compete at an all-comers tournament at Fletcher's Field. The 10s and 12s both came away with 1-1-1 records, while the 8s went undefeated in their three games - an amazing effort from the youngest player sin the club. Congratulations to all who took part! Photos from the day are viewable HERE.

AWARDS NIGHT SUCCESS

Meanwhile, there was a fantastic turnout from all three sections of the Club at the annual awards night, which raised over $500. Award recipients included outgoing Alex Godsmark, who collected 1st XV Back of the Year. News of the Scotsman's silverware haul somehow found it's way into Scotland's leading rugby magazine, where it was given a full two page spread. You can view it HERE (pages 20-21).

NEW EXEC TEAM

Finally, the senior section held it's Annual General Meeting last weekend, which resulted in some new (and old) faces being called up to the Executive Committee. Rob Ricci, through gritted teeth, agreed to become Fixtures Director for the 2015 season, while Robbie Egan has been installed in the new position of Director of Fundraising.

Meanwhile, David Soule was among the new appointees to the team as Social Director, a post he will be sharing with Jean-Francois Gauthier Lemieux. Double the players, double the fun... Anyway, their first job will be to help organize the next social in conjunction with outgoing Social head Nick Hails, along with the YeoLions Ladies, which is set to take place on Saturday October 31st. Halloween-themed details to follow.

You can see the full list of the anointed ones HERE.
